Glasmuseet Ebeltoft is a dynamic museum for contemporary, international glass art, beautifully situated by Ebeltoft Vig with a view over the hills of Mols. The light and the maritime surroundings create a magnificent backdrop for the museum’s rotating temporary exhibitions, displaying world-class modern glass.

The museum is open all year round and has a distinguished collection of glass art, which is presented in various themes throughout the year. One of the permanent works you will see is the staggering ‘Cosmic Space’, created by painter and sculptor Tróndur Patursson from the Faroe Islands. The Cosmic Space is made up of painted glass walls surrounding a mirrored floor and ceiling. When you enter the room, you feel like you are suspended between heaven and earth – a thrilling experience for both young and old.
Working glass studio
The Glass Studio – the museum’s workshop – can be found in the museum’s grounds. In the summer season, you will be able to watch the entire process, from fluid glass to finished product. During the school holidays, there are activities for the whole family. You can work with the material yourselves, when there are moulding, glass-blowing and other workshop activities for the public.

You can borrow a ‘discovery suitcase’ for the youngest children. It offers a playful approach to learning about glass as you walk through the museum or explore glass eyes and light bulbs in the museum’s glass universe. If you are looking for a unique gift or simply want to spoil yourself, the shop is full of inspiration and has glass to suit every taste. Finish your visit at Stockfleth Deli, a charming eatery, beautifully situated with a view over Ebeltoft Vig.
